The second chakra is associated with creation, desires and feelings, also called the sacred chakra. It relates to procreation, to giving life.  Yoga helps to balance your second chakra.

When your Swadhistana (Sanskrit name for the 2nd chakra) is unbalanced you can have rigid emotions. Besides you feel guilty, have issues setting boundaries and have unhealthy relationships. Physically speaking, you may encounter problems with your kidneys and reproductive organs.

To the contrary when it’s balanced you have a creative power, have good relationships and you are patient.

Having a spiritual practice can help you to work on your second chakra. Yoga, meditation, aromatherapy and listening to daily affirmations can support you on this journey.

Yoga exercises you can practice to balance your second chakra

Frog pose, Cobra pose, Butterfly, Sat Kriya, Cat-Cow, Maha-Mudra, Pelvic Lifts, forward bend on one leg and squat. Yoga helps to balance your second chakra.

Swami Saradananda, a Spiritual teacher from India, proposes the following meditation.

Sit in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and inhale through both nostrils. Consider your mind is a lake. Imagine a diamond has felt into the waters. Let your respiration become a bit more superficial.

As your breath becomes calm, your mental state reaches a point of stillness. Concentrate yourself and try to observe the diamond under the water.

Don’t fight any other thoughts coming up. They will disappear eventually.

When the waters become calm, you can see clearly in the deepness of the lake. Same happens with your mind. When it is calm, you can find inner peace.
